Spring time is upon us! Things are blooming and becoming fresh & new. This month’s submission comes to us from the Brett Family. This would be great to bring to the church potluck or to make for a Summer picnic with family & friends.

Brett Family Chocolate Trifle
Instructions
Prepare brownie mix or cake according to package directions and cool completely.
Cut into 1 inch squares. (If using cake mix, which I prefer, bake in jelly roll pan)
In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces of Cool Whip® until no streaks remain.
In a trifle bowl, arrange in layers 1/2 of the brownies, 1/2 of the pudding mixture, and 1/2 of the 12 ounce carton of Cool Whip®. Repeat those layers again with the remaining brownies, pudding and Cool Whip.
Shave the chocolate bar into curls with a potato peeler and garnish the top.
*You can also substitute, or add your favorite nut, sprinkled on top.
Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
Recipe Notes
Note: For a lighter/spongier version of this, use a regular chocolate cake mix instead of brownies. Bake the cake in a large jellyroll pan so it is thin and can be easily cut into squares.
