BRANSON, Mo., May 21, 2014 – Those planning to travel across Table Rock Lake’s Dam between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM on Wednesday May 28 or Thursday, May 29 should expect delays because traffic traveling across the dam on Highway 165/265 will be reduced to one lane. In announcing the lane closure the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) said that the purpose of the closure is to “conduct a bridge inspection.
“Although lane closures across the dam typically do not result in inordinate delays this is a case where a little advanced planning might avoid frustration and disappointment,” said Tammy Johnson, the Director of Operations for the Branson Tourism Center. She suggests that those planning on traveling across the dam to get to Silver Dollar City, the Showboat Branson Belle, the State Park Marina or anything else that might be time sensitive during that period should allow extra time or take an alternate route.
The Corps apologized for any inconvenience and requests those driving across the dam during the inspection to be cautious while traveling around workers and equipment.
