Branson visitors and residents should be aware that certain roads will be temporarily closed for the running of “The Divas® Half Marathon & 5K in Branson, MO on Sunday May 4, 2014. The 13.1 mile loop course will start and finish at Branson Landing. Of major concern to those using the “Yellow Route,” will the closing of all lanes of “James J. Epps Rd. from Hwy 248 to Roark Valley Rd. from 7:35 am to 10:30 am.
The events will start at 7:30am with the Divas® Half Marathon and the Divas® 5K will follow at 8:00am. They will follow a “rolling closure” which means that traffic will be affected for a short period before the first runner enters the section and ends when the last runner leaves that section. The City of Branson Police will reopen the roads as soon as race course operations cease, with the half marathon course officially closing by 11:00am.
The following roads will be affected by the half marathon route during the designated times as stated below:
Branson Landing Blvd. between E Long St. and Main St.
Southbound and northbound lanes will be closed from 3:30am to 10:00am
Branson Landing Blvd. between Boxcar Willie Dr. and N Commercial St.
Southbound and northbound lanes will be closed from 6:00am to 9:00am
Branson Landing Blvd. from traffic circle to State Hwy 65 ramp interchange
Northbound lane only will be closed from 7:45am to 8:30am
Branson Landing Blvd. between N Commercial St. and traffic circle
Southbound and northbound lanes will be closed from 6:00am to 11:35am
Hwy 248 from State Hwy 65 ramp interchange to James Epps Rd.
One westbound lane will be closed from 7:35am to 9:10am
James Epps Rd. from Hwy 248 to Roark Valley Rd.
All lanes will be closed from 7:35am to 10:30am
Gretna Rd. from Pirate Drive/Hwy 248 to Roark Valley Rd.
One westbound lane will be closed from 8:05am to 10:20am
Roark Valley Rd. from Gretna Rd. to James Epps Rd. Eastbound lane will be closed from 8:15am to 10:40am
Cahill Rd. from Woodleigh Rd. to Branson Landing Blvd. traffic circle
One eastbound lane will be partially blocked from 8:40am to 11:10am
Travelers should follow the detours and, to avoid delays, should plan an earlier start during the hours of the events.
